The geographical characteristics of the area, such as its tropical climate and plentiful rainfall, help provide a variety of ingredients, including rice, vegetables, fresh fish, seafood, poultry, and pig. Due to the popularity of Cantonese restaurants outside of China, Cantonese food has had a huge international effect.
